Someone at Dorkbot Bristol found an interesting project that's going on at the University of California at Irvine. Strangely, the Java didn't seem to run any faster when I cached the trig results.

I think I'll try doing all the maths in ints, along with cached trig, and see how much that helps. After that it's off to the NDK and writing it in C.
