My SEMESTER TWO results are out.... Narrative in Creative Industries : CREDIT
... Creative Writing: The Short Story : PASS
... Corporate Writing and Editing : CREDIT
... Creative Non-Fiction: Life Writing : CREDIT
To be honest, I was DISAPPOINTED. Quite bummed too, in fact.
See. I was under the impression that I could score at least a DISTINCTION for maybe Corporate Writing and Editing or Life Writing. I mean. The marks I have gotten so far showed POTENTIAL. But I was wrong.
After receiving the final assignment marks for those two subjects, I had HOPES. Maybe. A little too much hope. Or too much CONFIDENCE.
I was shocked when the results came out on Saturday instead of the intended Monday. And I thought there was some mistake because the results I have gotten are exactly the same as my SEMESTER ONE results.
I was bummed. I did not know what went wrong. I would pardon Corporate Writing and Editing because I messed up the midterm test. But. I really really thought I could do well for Life Writing. I mean. I have known most of the marks for the subject already and it was pretty well off. But I guess I was wrong.
The total marks for each subject are yet to be revealed. But I do not know if they are ever going to. I will give it a week. Then. Maybe. I will email some of my tutors.
Maybe it is my very own SELF-MISLEADING that got me all worked up in the first place. But. I would like to know too. What happened.

I have enrolled in next year's subjects a while back. Class allocations will not be opened till JANUARY 15.
Just to be sure I get the classes I want, I shall wake up the moment they enable registration. Which will be 8AM over here. Meh.
For next year's second semester, I have yet to decide which ELECTIVES I should take. I have a few in mind.
1. INTERNATIONAL CINEMA
This was my intended elective.
I figured since my entire course is about WRITING, it would be nice to do something other than writing for my electives. For my first semester, I have chosen Sex, Drugs, Rock 'n' Roll, a MUSIC subject. So why not for my second semester I do something on FILM.
Maybe I would eventually decide on this elective again. Because you know me. I have the habit of going in the hugest circle and coming back to where I have first started. Wasting a great amount of time for nothing.
There is a 50% exam with a 50% assignment.
2. POPULAR FICTIONS, POPULAR CULTURE
I have received good words on this subject. The materials are cool and we get to read awesome books. This subject has potential to be fun.
But. What I am afraid is that there will be books to read for classes and I will already have my hands full in the same way for my other subject, Creative Writing: Youth and Children Writing. Word has it that we are to read a new book every week. Yeah. I do not know if I can handle so many books in one semester. I am slow at reading, really.
There is a 40% exam. So. If I do take up this subject, I am not sure if I can handle the pressure.
3. WORKPLACE LEARNING
The most practical elective to take up. If I do want to consider about my future already.
It is a good opportunity. Get a rough idea what the industry is going to be like before heading out. And maybe. Get my name out there before I graduate. Probably a better chance in securing a job compared to when nobody knows a nut's ass who the heck I am.
So yes. Very practical.
But. Do remember I had a BAD experience on said internships once upon a time. Although working in DELL for three months had somewhat redeemed my confidence in the working world, I still have a bad feeling.
So call me a CHICKEN because I am.
But really, I have a feeling I would eventually end up choosing International Cinema.
Tickets for Damien Rice's concerts go on sale TOMORROW. 7AM my time. Guh.
So far, Ticketek.com has only revealed the price for the NSW venue. A good $74. I am not sure if it will be the same for the Brisbane venue. I hope not.
And yes. JOHN MAYER is touring Australia in APRIL. He will be stopping by Brisbane on APRIL 10. I would really love to go see him because I have been dreaming of going to his concert since the day the guy swooned me.
The BRISBANE CONVENTION CENTRE has revealed the ticket price to be at $96. Fuck.
I really hope it is not true.
Tickets go on sale on DECEMBER 8.
A few of my friends from other states would like to check him out too. So I will see if we can meet up at the same venue. It is during the break anyway.
