Read at a minimum two books a month  - Not counting the seven books and three FMs I scoured for my information paper in the space of two weeks, I'm not doing too well here.  I started The World is My Home by James Michener and After Dark, My Sweet by Jim Thompson but have not made any significant progress since the beginning of June.  Fail.

Had a great day yesterday.  Three of my former squad leaders came by the house and we bar-be-qued.  One is now permanently stationed here while the other two are here for BNCOC.  It was the first time I've seen them since my change of command in April, and it was a good time catching up ( Read more... )

My brain hurts.  I've effectively absorbed three books' worth of information about the Egyptian crossing of the Suez Canal in 1973 in 5 hours.  My outline is 60% complete.  Lessons learned compared to current doctrine analysis to follow tomorrow after I comb three more books and the appropriate FMs.  Why did I procrastinate not getting an earlier ( Read more... )
