Well, They always say its easy to come home....unless DRAMA is riding with you.
Well I was supposed to leave on the 16th to make the wonderful 12 hour drive to Texas, however DRAMA decided she needed me to stay around for a day. At about 1200 on the 15th I was heading to BIG 10 to get new tires on my truck when she struck, right in front of Captial Chevolet my truck suddenly went dead. I dont mean dead like no gas or sputtering...I MEAN DEAD...No brakes nor electric no power steering....FLATLINE. So a buddy of mine was working at Capital helped me push the truck into the shop. Verdict...complete electrical failure. No cause found until a bare wire was found in the most remote place that it took all of us to find it. So the shop did a temp fix and ordered the parts for install on the next day. The parts arrive at 1400 so there is no chance of departing on the same day. So it looks like I will leave on the 17th.
Well I get everything ready to leave and Im fired up. So I go to bed a a decent hour much to the dislike of asjachyld who had a few things to drop off but there was no way for me to stay up. My internal alarm clock goes off at 0700 while my alarm clock that was set at 0400 didnt go off. WHAT THE HELL OVER!! I scramble, get my things together and run down to the truck to head for texas. Get in and go to start the truck.....no start...THE FREAKING BATTERY IS DEAD!!! AAARGGGGGG!. I call the CP to get one of the Airman to jump the truck off. Wait time is 20 minutes....my schedule is shot to hell. I finally get the truck jumped off and bang...the cell phone is ringing off the hook. All the phones at the Command Post have crashed. No phones at a Command Post is a REALLY BAD THING! So I stop in to work to fix the problem and then leave to hit the road. I finally get out of Montgomery at 0845. DAMN YOU DRAMA!
So my final arrival time at Texas is 2145. Im beat to hell and realize I have to get up at 0600 to drive to Dallas to pick up my son who is flying in. He arrives at 1100, we hace to leave home at 0530. I got to bed at 0045 after catching up with mom and dad. We arrive at DFW to pick up my son to discover that the plane has been delayed until 1230. I HATE YOU DRAMA! Then she decides to change the gate 3 times within 1 hour that has me and mom running from 1 terminal to the other.
So we are home now. Im wondering what else DRAMA has in store for me. I have a hint. My mother hands me a bunch of love letters from a woman who walked out of my life because i joined the USAF. Such a wonderful thing to remember during the holidays. WHERE THE HELL IS ASJA! Oh, she trying out life as a dependant wife....JK LADY!
Ill post more tomorrow after I make the mandatory trip to church with the son. Is this really worth it???
