Goodbye Sheridan Pizza Co.

Feb 21, 2007 20:15

The historic building that housed Sheridan Pizza Co. and a bar, located on the banks of the South Yamhill River, fell into the river today. As far as I know nobody was hurt, but damn. I'm gonna miss their pizza.

Yeah, I didn't realize it myself until I saw the clip on KGW while watching the Blazers game. No wonder traffic was backed up on the way home from work!

I used to date a guy named Billy who lived in Sheridan and drove a herse.

Anyway. So, this building simply fell into the river? That's just crazy. And weird. Very weird.

Well, it wasn't the whole building, just the back half. The river bank sloughed away and so the back half of the building had nothing but air underneath to support it. And, as we all know, air doesn't make the best subgrade for structures unless you're the Jetsons. So that back half kind of crumbled off into the river. Channel 8 was there again today with their camera. It must be another slow news day.
