i spent the day watching the interactive election coverage map on the cnn website. i cried out with joy and relief when the west coast lit up in shades of blue and gave obama the majority and therefore the presidency.

watching the numbers was frightening as at a very brief stage, mccain was leading the popular vote 50 to 49 %. and for hours it was a neck and neck race. thankfully the truth appears to be out there, but it's still scary to see how close in popularity each candidate was to the other.

i haven't seen obama's speech yet, but i did enjoy read mccain's, so i'd best hunt it down. and yes, palin was the stupidest thing the republican's could have done.
