That Darn Cat

Disclaimer: First and foremost, the PPC originated from the wonderful brains of Jay and Acacia. Discworld is the intellectual and legal property of, of course, Sir Terry Pratchett, as are all featured characters thereof. This fic, however, is the creation of one Bard Kayna. Athough s/he seems to have forgotten about it for the time being, Agents ( Read more... )

I love it! The scene between the agents at the end was really touching, which is unusual for a PPC mission, but nice. A lot of things made me smile, too - "there were times you dueled the Sue one-on-one with a Klingon blade...", "What'd she do, step on her tail?", stuff like that. Also, including Gaspode was smart, and funny; I really love how he knows all about the PPC. The mission he referenced, did you have a particular one in mind?

That aside, though, I noticed one phrase that seemed kind of odd: "epiphany stormed off in a huff." I wasn't really sure what it was meant to say, but I'm fairly sure the anthropomorphic personification of realizations didn't show up in a foul mood.

Oh, and this is a bit irrelevant, but nice icon.

Thanks very much! I'm really glad you enjoyed it; this mission was a lot of fun to write. Including Gaspode in and of itself was a nod to Trojie and Pads' Disc mission, "Out In The Rain", where they recruited him as a field Agent. The mission he referred to was originally going to be theirs, but we decided not to go that far and just made it a random Disc mission by somebody, somewhere.

That little phrase was one of Lycaenion's; it may be a bit odd, but it was supposed to get across the idea that Teek's great idea turned out to be rather useless, and she was annoyed about it. (Well, with your partner disappeared on an emergency trip back to Medical to prevent a possible permanent condition, most people'd be annoyed at things going wrong after that, no?)

As for my icon, it was lady_rilwen who made it. She's quite the Star Wars fan, and given this particular series of missions and interludes led from Teek's teenage temper tantrums, I felt it was rather appropriate to use the icon for the arc. Thanks very much, I'm glad you like it. :D ( ... )

Oh, I remember that mission! I thought it might be them. I see the logic behind the line, I guess, although it still seems a bit weird. It's still a nice mission, though. Permission to friend you so I can keep an eye on upcoming missions?
