Monthly theme challenges and other contests
One of the things we're really excited about are the monthly pan-fanwork challenges. The second Monday of every month we'll post a new challenge "theme." This theme might be an actual theme, like "winter" or "finding yourself" or it can be something like "Headstones lyrics" or "song titles." It might focus on a character, or on a specific an actor, or a fandom. The possibilities are endless and if you have any theme suggestions, feel free to leave them as a comment in this post or contact one of the mods.
Once we've posted the theme, it's up to you to create something for that theme. Icons, other graphics, fic, fanmixes, meta, recs, picspams, or anything else your creative brains can come up with. You can use the theme how ever you see fit - we're leaving the interpretation of the theme and how it's used completely up to you. There are no wrong answers. Every one who participates will be thoroughly praised and smished and maybe there will be pretty little participation banners.
Additionally, we're also intending to have other random contests when the mood strikes one of the mods. This might be any kind of contest, from an icontest to a fanfix competition to a haiku contest. There will probably be anonymous voting and award banners as well. If you have ideas for contests, or want to sponsor one here in the community, leave a comment or contact the mods.
