I spent an entire summer once prepping biology labs in virtual solitude. By fall I not only had conversations with inanimate objects, I had also begun to refer to myself in the third person. :-)

Its part of a carefully controlled experiment:

I talk to bearvis (in the absence of food): he gives me his undivided attention.

I talk to myself: quite often I answer.

I talk to inanimate objects: so far nothing . . .

I'll keep you apprised of any developments.
