The council have started our private Saturday-night fireworks shows again (that is, they let off fireworks on the seafront, directly in front of our window

Sounds like a plan! I was considering one of those before I went for a McMini instead. (More powerful, nicer OS, similar price to the mini-ITX I was considering - though, er, that wasn't £200.)
I still hope one day I'll have a fanless computer (and hard-driveless). In the past few years there does seem to have been a bit of innovation going into reducing power consumption, whereas previously it was all about turning computers into space heaters in order to gain the last possible megahertz boost... I think we're also finally seeing people realise that processors a few years behind the curve are perfectly fast enough to run everything you need (except games).
That said I kind of want a faster computer at work! But it would be nice if it were also McMini-sized instead of an annoying bulk under the desk.
Assuming it works once it's together, doesn't overheat, crash (linux *sigh*) etc., it should be very cute. The board itself supposedly draws about 6W - even once you add 10W wasted in the power supply, and a bit on the HDD, that's about as low as you're going to get...
Yay! Very environmentally friendly there. (Couldn't you use solid-state HD? That should minimise power consumption and cut out any noise. Maybe not in your budget though :)
Incidentally if it's really 6W it should be able to run for an hour on two AA batteries (theoretically, and assuming I calculated right). Budget UPS option maybe? ;) [OK, two AAs probably do not constitute a regulated power supply, so maybe not.]
I did consider SSD, but I don't have the budget for a massive one, which I'd probably need for a main system. Add to that my amateur computer-building skills, and I decided to steer clear.
Will post a picture once I get it all together. :)

Post a pic when you've built it...
