Talk about your weapon of choice. A time you had to draw your weapon and didn't want to. Anything that comes to mind.
I have to admit, I'm not usually the first person to draw my gun on someone. I'd much rather use physical, non-life threatening force to subdue a suspect, rather than a weapon, but that's my personal prerogative, I suppose, and a shrink would say it probably goes back to childhood trauma, but I really would just prefer to think of it as a personal preference.
However, I'm also not an idiot. I carry your standard police issue service weapon with me at all times, just in case one of those moments come up where non-life threatening force is not available. And I've been in plenty of those since I've come to New York. We're trained to shoot them before they shoot us, and I'm really a pretty decent shot when it comes down to it. For the most part, I just don't like using it.
