Shocking.
It was the middle of the day on campus. I was laying back on a huge cushioned chair that rested outside of the psychology department office. It felt like laying on a cloud.. as I sat back staring aimlessly at the white ceiling, taking in the music that filled my ears from my mp3 player that Smoosh gave me.
Suresh needed to see me about something. I figured it was something to do with homework. But I was waaay wrong. I could see his his tall figure standing at the doorway in the corner of my eye. I looked over towards him sitting up with a smile.
"Come on in, Marie." I can never forget his expression on his face. He seemed concerned, worried.. as if he was afraid to tell me what he needed to say. So I stood up and followed him into his office.. taking a seat infront of his desk.. as she I sat back.. pulling the ear phones from my ears, hearing sudden silence, until he spoke again.. showing a light smile..
"How have you been doing, Marie?"
"I am doing wonderfully, Suresh.. Just wonderful. Thanks to you." I smiled but the look on my face told him to just get on with it.
"That is.. wonderful, Marie." He gave a slight pause.. then he closed his eyes shaking his head.. "Oh, my apologies.. I just found out something major. I've met with your parents."
"--My parents.." My heart felt like it stopped when he said that.. The last people I ever want to meet.
"Yes.. only because they contacted me. You do not have to see them.. but I just thought there was something you should know.."
I felt a very harsh jolting shiver electricute through my body.. Oh god. What is it? Do I have to go back to that place? Do they want me back? Do they hate me? What was, it!! He needed to stop pausing.. that Mohinder Suresh.. always taking forever to tell me anything!!
"You have a sister, Marie. pure_momentum She is almost 26 years old.. Her name is Jane and she too was also a captive in that place you were in."
".. A sister? I have a sister?!" Oh my god! I have a sister.. I never thought I would ever have one! This was exciting and scary at the same time.."So you.. you said she was held there? Are you saying my parents did that to her and now to me? She must be special like me.. Where is she now?"
"That is the problem, Marie.. You see.. your sister has escaped from there.. and she is highly dangerous. She has made over 12 murders in the past five months. We have no idea where she could be.. but she does know about you. And she might just might come and look for you.."
I felt speechless.. This was a little too much for me to handle.. I looked off in thought.. I have a psychotic murderer for a sister.. why me?
"Why would she want to come for me?"
"It is just a possibility.. but I must ensure your protection, please.. do not leave the campus for a while.."
"Oh.. okay." I.. was suddenly in the worst mood ever. Once again I felt imprisoned.. but at least I got to go outside. But it's not enough for me anymore. I want to feel free.. and this crazy sister of mine is keeping me from that. Not gonna happen. I nodded and gave suresh a fake smile before rising from my seat.. walking to the door..
"Please, Marie.. only until she is captured again." I turned my head looking at him nodding then disappeared from his sight through the door.. I walked down the hall thinking to myself.. There is no way I am gonna spend a month or so on this campus. Who is up for going to China Town? I have been dying for some of their food.
