Something in me changed last week. Since my last post about the storm, I had an intense moment of emotional catharsis, and never really came back from it. Here's a somewhat terrible and humorous analogy that is in no way designed to make light of the situation, but it's what I could come up with without offensively invoking other disasters. Put it this way: saying something isn't as bad as Katrina is like saying someone isn't as awesome as Gary Oldman. Gary Oldman being the pinnacle of awesome, this leaves a lot of leeway. NPH is really really awesome, but he's not that awesome. HOWEVER, we would both agree that his awesomeness is still very significant.
In the same way, Ike isn't as bad as Katrina, because nothing can be. But it's still very significantly bad.
Anyway...apparently things like this make me very vocal. Thanks for the love. I'm looking forward to yogurt more than you can imagine!
