Me too... And they should have already.
When you go back on the 21st, let the Dr know that there's not much improvment, thus far, and that you'd like to explore other possibilities.

ie-- different symptoms

It's only been 2 weeks.. I've heard that it takes 2-6 to start. :(

don't want to be all annoying, but your meds can take up to 6 months to get the full effect. i know this, i'm on the same ones. stop blaming everything on the meds (and their lack of working).

Lexapro? I'm not blaming the meds. I'm blaming myself, and want them to start working so I'll feel better.

yes, lexapro. i've been on it for years- just about the time it came out. if you need a fix, meds aren't the quick fix. start doing things that make you feel better.

I started taking Lexapro three weeks ago and I noticed a huge difference one week into it.

Doctor tells me it's because I don't take meds and have never taken meds before.

Lexapro is amazing. I feel quadrillion times better...however, I'm a little more relaxed than I'd like to be.

It really can depend on your diet, body type, and the way your body reacts to meds. It usually will take from a month to 6 months for meds to kick in. If you have been on similar meds in the past it will take longer because your body builds up a tolerance to them. Certain mood stabilizers I can not take because of this. It takes me at least a month for meds to work in my system. Everyone is different but you are in the norm Charlie. Just let your doctor know what is going on. Your doctor may want to increase your dosage or add something to it. I all ready see a change in you even if it is small. Just keep taking them and be patient.

I somewhat feel a change. Calmer, but then Jen comes home and throws everything in my face....

i dont throw things in your face, you walk into my room without knocking, and turn your head so that you can see my screen and see that i'm talking to him. You put all of this shit in front of yourself, and i'm trying to be polite, and acknowledge that you're a human being, and have feelings, so i try to comply with the things that you want me to do to avoid scenes like last night alltogether.

I cant help you, because you wont help yourself, you're pushing everyone away, and you're using your "issues" as an enabler and excuse for the way that you behave.

Yes, i need to go to school to become a psychiatrist.
