Boo did extremely well at his Swim-A-Thon today. He had to swim laps to earn per-lap donations for his team's fundraiser. He did 100 non-stop laps. His goal? 50. He frakkin doubled his goal! I am so proud right now. *glows

you need to post here more, id forgotten how much i miss hearing about boo and his aquatic escapades! i remember doing the laps-for-$ thing - the swimmers that did the most laps got permission to toss the coaches into the pool one time, without warning.
I totally need to bring that up at the next Swim-A-Thon! Thanks for the mention. ;)
I know, I hadn't been posting much, it's been rather crazy. If I ever can afford a decent camera, I need to get some videos of his butterfly...tis pretty.
id certainly love to see some vids! im envious of people that can do butterfly properly - im fine until i have to breathe, and then i look like im having a spasm because i dont have enough power to lift myself out of the water while keeping my head down.
Boo does still have trouble with the breath, he sinks a bit cause he lifts his head too much.
But last night at the Swim-A-Thon they had swimmers from Henderson University there for motivation, two of them hold multiple school records, and three of them going to Italy to swim in the world races, possibly against Phelps. Boo's eyes nearly popped out of his head when he heard that. They all swam and it was beautiful to watch.
I know!! He just needed to get a little more confident about showing his style and WHAM! I'm rooting for Adam too but I gotta show the local boy some love. :D
100 laps?! You've got one super kid there. Make sure he promises to get you tickets to the first olympics he competes in daily, starting now, so there will be no excuse when the time comes for being left out. =P
Oh, you know Momma will be at whatever venue he is able to get to. ;) I just hope he sticks with it. Starting at age 7 and going through college would be a looong time not to get burned out on something.
That's true. Depends on whether it stays on as an outlet or becomes a pressure-holder. I think that's another tough parenting thing. Where does one draw the line of encouragement so if quitting comes up later they don't stress about disappointing you and hide their will to move on? But I think kids who are really good at something tend to stick with stuff. It's the ones who are mediocre and juggling tons of other activities trying to find where their talent might be that have conflicting emotions and have to make decisions to drop one thing over another. Yeah, sorry, useless ranting.
Yay! Another fan of Kris! Although Danny was one of my faves in the beginning, I'm losing my love for him. Top vote is for Allison (Girl!Power) cause nobody seems to recognize her talent. Bottom three? Whaaaaat!?!
