HORRORS!!

I have a night alone, with no husband and after 9:30 or so, no kid.  Normally this is good.  Nooorrrmally, I would read to my heart's content.  Except I have no new books and no new music.  *GASP*  This is what a car payment will do.  I wish I had gotten up earlier to go to the library like I had planned on ( Read more... )

Based on what you said about Canon and about pocket cameras, you sound ready for your first DSLR :) My first DSLR was the Nikon D40x and it worked out very, very well for me. It helped teach me about what a DSLR is capable of and allowed me to grow as a photographer but was not difficult to use at all. My friend and Canon-user would often go "Aww man, I wish I had a Nikon!" The difference between the two I feel is just the color. Canon has very fantastical colors while Nikon always does the best on how true to life the colors are ( ... )

I would love to dabble with a DSLR but sadly even heavily discounted they are too much money. I still need the relative ease of point and shoot, but would like options. But you are so right about the Canon color, I always felt it was either too washed and bright or just plain wild. I thought it had something to do with lighting and me messing up!

I have some type of HP camera. It has served me well for about 4-5 years now. Don't know if that helps. HaHa.

I considered those, especially considering I have an HP printer with the hookup for the camera right there. Except they really aren't as sharp as others as far as catching fast-action like dives and running. I might consider one of those on ebay though, just to have. :P
