CANNOT WAIT! It might not have the same feel as SG-1 and Atlantis, but it still looks like it'll be one hell of a ride.

Alot of folks are saying that and of course the idea is similar but no, I don't think it will be anything like Voyager.

maybe more like what Voyager could have been if it wasn't trying to headline the primetime slot for the (at the time) brand new UPN network.

The biggest difference is that in ST:VOY they were going home, in this they are headed away from home with no way to turn back.

Probably going to try to feel more like BSG.

Psh, Voyager did so poorly because the Paramount Network had just renamed their stations to UPN. Stargate: Universe won't have that problem with SyFy. … Oh, wait.

As you may well know, Becky and I have not watched Atlantis. Are we at a disadvantage?

not at all, they say this is written for folks who never saw SG-1 even.
But it does has a few SG-1 cameos in the pilot, no references to Atlantis though
