Bratz Dolls

May 08, 2005 14:49

I was in Toys backwards R Us yesterday with Kyle, Becky, and Ben finding presents for Kegan's birthday when I saw the Bratz Dolls display. I thought it was rather frightening how racy these toys were, so I decided to give MGA Entertainment(the company that markets the toys), some feedback. Here it is ( Read more... )

All I have to say to you Will is, wow, hey great goin'. Those dolls scare the bejesus out of me. First off you are indubitably correct, couln't agree more on how wrong those dolls are. And second, am I the only one who notices that THEY DON'T HAVE A NOSE! Scary, malicious, creepy, or down-right nasty, how ever you want to say it they are just bad news bears. Also I would like to include that Doohaas's comment was pretty much in a nutshell, the far best thing that you could respond to the paragraph that you wrote William. Thanks Will for understanding the fact that these "creatures" could by one look kill a small dog. Or at least thats what I think. Once again, good job Will. This is Bremermann singing out.

what's the disproportionate body parts got to do with little girls growing up trying to be like Bratz dolls? I hope doubt that little girls and boys in the world have dreams about growing up with big head, long arms and legs, and dressing like sluts. Plus, it's good marketing will. And I do you have confidence in the majority of the parents in this world to tell there kids that growing up to be a Bratz boy or a Bratz girl isn't ok. I think you are twisting words and the meaning of what the people who made them were thinking of.

When I mentioned disproportionate body parts, I was referring to the scary-small waists and post-pubescent curves on dolls that are supposed to be pre-teen girls. If a young girl enjoys these toys, she might think to herself, “Hey, maybe this is how I’m supposed to look to be ‘cool’”, simply because she doesn’t know any better. I agree it is good marketing, which is also a big problem. Our society loves anything provocative, which is probably why these things are selling so well. I think it’s pretty clear what the people at this company had on their minds when they were making these toys: money.

P.S. Not to be a smartass, but it really helps your argument when there aren't spelling and grammar errors that make the post make a lot less sense.
