i've got that ringing in my ear and i absolutely love it. the hoarse voice too. permanent reminders that you were just at a concert.

what can i say? it was amazing. probably one of the best concerts that i ever went to.

here comes the long entry and i'd love you x 435823495730985738957387 if you read it :]

we got to the city around 3:30 (almost hitting a guy who was running across the street) and my dad and mr. hassan wouldn't let us go to starbucks to get lattes and eat little sandwiches like sophisticated new yorkers. instead, we went to the cosmic dinner right down the street from roseland.

gina, vicki, and i didn't want to eat anything..but my dad made us order something. so we ordered an appitizer and shared it.

i had a chicken wing, and a chicken tender. go me. vicki barely ate a thing and gina had some of her dads sandwich.

after fifty million trips to the bathroom we finally made it to the line.....which was already around the side of the building. my dad and mr. hassan stood in the actual line with gina, and vicki and i sat against the building. first and last time i sit on new york city streets.

the line moved a little bit and vicki and i had to get up and switch places. gina eventually joined us on the ground and we just sat and talked. i called casey a few times and she kept me entertained.

where we were on the line was near the theater where oprah was starring in the color purple so all these people kept walking by and asking what this long line was for...

whelp, we were going to see the spice girls, the backstreet boys, 2pac, clay aikan, elton john, prince, the village people, rod stewart, jessica and ashlee simpson...among other. people actually believed us.

after a few fights with vicki and some fat people who yelled at us for moving our legs...we had to stand up due to numb butts and 51 degree weather.

a scary, drunk, black guy came starting grinding with these girls. then he started stripping and grabbing himself. everytime he saw himself in the mirror he was punch it and throw things. the police came with their pepper spray and he ran. that was an adventure.

finally after a pee break in starbucks and standing for some more, the doors opened around 6:50. we made our way in, the guy didnt even check us, and it was someones lovely idea to get merch afterwards instead of before.

vicki, gina, and i run into the main place in roseland and get excellent spots. not barrier, but right up close and off to the side. people crowded in around us as roadies came on and checked mics and such.

since i was waiting for this day for so long, i had the concert all pictured out in my mind. rooney would come on first. the crowd would be calm and no one would really want them to be there. then, the academy is... would come on. people would flip out for william since he's just so damn sexy and there'd be pushing. the all-american rejects would come on last, and the crowd would be insane. a lot of pushing and a lot of sweaty people. so i was insanely surprised when i saw adam t. siska take the stage. then tom came out, followed by the butcher, mike, and then william.

i wasn't impressed. they did better headlining. something just didn't click with me about them. maybe because they played every song from the album, but almost here, which is my favorite. the crowd wasn't going crazy either. they only played for around a half of an hour.

they left, and rooney came on. they played for around an hour? and the crowd knew every word and danced to every song. i do believe vicki and i fell asleep during one of the slower ones.

as for gina, she was going insane. i've never seen her flip out so much. she thanked me repetitively for taking her.

after rooney, there was a long wait while they set up for the all-american rejects. this one retarded ass boy with a mohawk decides he needs to make sure the mics are fine.

"check one. check center mic. check. check. check. check. check. check. check. it's cha-boy, check. check. check center mic. check. check."

he needed to go away. but no, he checked the drum mic and the mics on both sides. vicki and i were ready to flip.

so the lights dimmed and a long verison of the beginning of can't take it came on. the black backdrop fell and was replaced with a white one with the AAR symbol. chris came on, and that's all i could see. everyone started screaming as nick, mike, and tyson came out.

SET LIST in no particular order except for the first and last songs..

DIRTY LITTLE SECRET.
HAPPY ENDINGS.
WHY WORRY.
IT ENDS TONIGHT.
NIGHT DRIVE. (semi acoustic)
DANCE INSIDE.
IT ENDS TONIGHT.
STAB MY BACK.
MY PAPER HEART.
TIME STANDS STILL.
SWING, SWING.
MOVE ALONG.
THE LAST SONG.

dance inside was amazing. that's my favorite song and when i heard the beginning of it, vicki and i took one look at each other and started screaming. both of our favorite songs.

to me, that was the point in the concert that made it all worth it. the waiting in line for 3 hours. the smell of pot in the air. the random pushes. it was all worth it because for that moment, it was like it was just me and the band.

the rest of the concert seemed to fly by. the last song was obviously what ended it.

"do you want us to end acoustic or rockin'? well this isn't the first song.....it isn't the middle song. this isn't...the cresent of the moon song....this is...the....last...song."

he crowd surfed and vicki, gina, and i rushed the stage. we didnt get close enough, which was fine.

they left and every ran out. we made our way to the merch which was worse pushing than the concert itself. i got overheated and almost threw up. i had to leave the line and go out into the street. everything went staticy and i couldnt see. i was dizzy and i couldn't walk. my dad had to help me down the street to buy water.

we didn't meet anyone besides lana from strong medicine on lifetime, but that's okay. i talked to chad for a second..sort of? and i got an all-american rejects hoodie.

great concert. amazing time.
