And I forget that I really enjoy Philip being the ever supportive husband and really dreadful minion. (It is a comical device that you can only use sparingly, but in this case it was really kind of adorable.)
Smitten! That's a good way to put it. Its one of the reasons I can't fathom people not adoring these two, how can you not, once you see how their faces look when they look at each other in this ep? Blair's always so composed, trying to hide her vulnerabilities. Way back in second season, when Blair was going to Dan for Chuck advice, that was the issue between Chuck and Blair, that neither of them wanted to give the other the upper hand. But with Dan, there's none of that tension, she knows Dan loves her for her, so she can let her usual defenses down

Yeah, I'd definitely recommend The OC. It started off pretty good, the middle was kinda meh, but I think they managed to end it on a high note. Schwartz and Co knew they weren't getting renewed for a 5th season, so I think they made some really bold choices for the direction of the show which vastly lifted it out of the funk it was in, allowing them to finish in a good place

I enjoyed this; it made me laugh, shake my head at some of the ridiculousness spewing and most importantly you caught onto the subtexts the writers were alluding to: if you hadn't pointed them out I wouldn't have known its significance e.g. the triangle, the fact that Dan and Blair can communicate with one look, the Superman spin and many many more.
I would be interested in reading/viewing your recaps for the other eps in Season 5.

I completely agree and that's one of the reason I love not only Dair, but Dan.
Yeah, I never watched the OC. But now I'm kind of considering it with all these S/S parallels.
