From experience - naming them is a mistake it makes them harder to kill. Oh no, hang on, I've just remembered who I'm talking to. Also dont overfeed them (which we unintentionally did with ours) as they will be too fat to make good eating when they have finished laying. And watch out for brother Renard. And ours got red mite as well as we didnt know to paint their henhouse in the special killer stuff. But apart from all that......Mmmm fresh eggs....Yummy!! Fortunately Biggarden has hens, ducks and geese, so I get some of her eggs occasionally. Taste so much better than shop ones.
