Happy Cabell Day, everybody.

(x-posted from my other blog)

So yesterday I was buying candy for my classes in honor of V-Day--an endeavor which led to me phoning aardvark_gumbo from the Walgreen's candy aisle to ask him if sodium lactate (Jolly Ranchers) is an animal product, which it apparently is probably not if it's in commercial food products (they use bacteria to get it out of carbs) ( Read more... )

I think you need a personal chocolate wrapper to unwrap all the Dove Promises and re-wrap them in the proper colours.

Hurrah for Cabell day! We should celebrate it more often.

I saw this on your Facebook status and thought "oh, of course, Cabell day!" but didn't realize the epiphany was new to you too.

Someone at work brought in those Butterfinger hearts. I ate one and it made my teeth feel like I had just drank sand. :-P

Also, the other day I had to go to Freakshit's cube to install some software. On the cube wall by her phone she has created this elaborate checkerboard pattern with Dove Promise foils. I guess a wall full of meaningless affirmations like, "Hug a rainbow," and "Fill your heart with puppies," really help her make it through the day.

Fill your heart with puppies,

Is this some sort of revolutionary treatment for high cholesterol I'm not aware of? Like "Puppies are the new angioplasty"?

Perhaps it's more-hardk0re-than-thou: 'Screw eating puppies, I inject them directly into my veins!'

I myself loathe Butterfingers anyway, so I wouldn't know. I was just trying to meet everyone's needs.

Also: that is fucking creepier than fuck.

I asked both a vegan and the internets about the sweet tarts. the three of us are still unsure. more paranoid vegans will probably want to stay away, unless they want to try to get a qualified answer out of the manufacturer.

Happy Cabell Day!
I'm glad I'm not teaching today - I have 78 students, so that would be an awful lot of candy. Instead - rugby practice for the lonely and single! Yey! Better than a date!

Hell, I have 90. They're actually pretty conservative with their candy consumption. Also, and this blows my mind, they seem to prefer hard candy to chocolate! I don't know what's wrong with them.
