Delightful! Awesome detail and expressions, and the shadowing of the clothing is brilliant. Though I seem to be very dense, what is this a fanart for?

Happy Valentine for you, too!

Thank you!

They are Rumplestiltskin and Belle from ABC's TV show Once Upon a Time (OUAT). It is a kind of mash-up of fairy tales in a modern setting, with the fairy tales characters often interpreting more than one role, and in their version Rumplestiltskin (played by a great Robert Carlyle) is also the Beast from The Beauty and the Beast. He and Belle are one of the most loved couple in the OUAT fandom, and their ship is abbreviated as Rumbelle. :D

Thanks for the explanation! I thought he looked a bit like the beast from the Beast! I have heard of that show, but never seen it, except some short video clips. So I have a general idea but nothing more.

I must confess reading the "anglitized" version of the name makes my toes curl and want to dig out the red pen, correcting it to the original "Rumpelstilzchen". *ggg* It feels as if somebody wrote Snape as they pronounced it, which would be in German "Snääb". *g*

Ah, well, consider that "Rumplestiltskin" is difficult enough to pronunce for an Italian as myself :P [I don't know German.] The Italian version of his name is Tremotino (the most common one, and also used in the dubbed Italian version of OUAT), although he was also called Praseidimio sometimes in the past. Praseidimio is indeed more difficult and "strange" also for Italian ears, while Tremotino is an easy word for us to say.

I recommend the show, in any case!

Wonderful watercolor! I love the expressions, beautiful sofa and lovely lush clothes.

Looks pretty much a professional illustration to me. :-)

But indeed, as WW asks: for which fandom is this?

Thank you! (You know, I have been working as a professional artist in recent years... ;)

They are Rumplestiltskin and Belle from ABC's TV show Once Upon a Time, which is a retelling of various tairy tales mixed with a modern setting. Often fairy tales characters interpret more than one role, and in this version Rumplestiltskin stands also for the Beast from Beauty and the Beast. He and Belle are one of the most popular canon couples in the show, and in fandom their ship is known as Rumbelle ;)

Fantastic! I've missed your art, it's always a joy. I keep meaning to read The Ending all the way though in one go, but I've been so busy I've had no time to read anything that isn't an academic paper :( even graphic novels have fallen by the wayside. I need to get organised and stash The Ending somehow to read on my next flight.

Thank you! :D

You know, I miss fanarts too :P My workload during the last year gave me simply no time for personal stuff; I barely managed to follow one Harry Potter fest at Christmas. Though fanarts can be insidious too; heck, this fanart has more likes on tumblr than all the Endling stuff put together!

(By the way, are you on tumblr?)

The Endling will be published steadily every Thursday until mid-June, we hope, and back issues are available both from the Thrillbent forum and from Comixology. If you have a tablet or something like that you can simply download it there and read it once you have time :)
