Tux shoppingD and I looked at the different styles at Men's Wearhouse yesterday after work. I really like the clean look of a sharp suit and colorful tie, but D wants to wear a real tux. Honestly, I don't like the look of rented tuxedos because they look precisely like what they are - rented and not custom fitted. We had a few tense moments ( Read more... )

I'm glad you got tux shopping out of the way and settled on something. We kind of had a similar tiff about the tuxes. I told FI that since he will be wearing the tux, he could pick out whatever he wanted (since I had picked everything else out). Big mistake as when he started liking all the things I didn't like, I of course had to voice my opinion and veto his choices. It was not a pretty sight.

As for as knowing who has RSVPed or not at your shower, I think it is okay to ask. I did. But of course that could be my complex of "I must know everything and anything that is going on if it is going to concern me or affect me in any way possible."

Here is a link on how to do the cut-away feature. It's pretty nice and I like it a lot. It helps not having a huge chunk of your friends page being taken up by pics if you don't want it.

I felt a little bad because I disagreed with almost everything D liked. He liked the wing collar shirt that made him look like a waiter. He liked the bright blue patterned vest that doesn't coordinate with anything in our wedding. But I hope he realizes that I only want him to look his best.

Thanks for the link!

CJ- don't get upset or regret any of the decisions you have made. We have all had to make some tough decisions during wedding planning. Yes, some of it was quite expensive, but I'm sure there's a rhyme and reason to each one of those. You splurged on your dress. It's A GORGEOUS dress! You splurged on your photographer- OF COURSE. We all know that the pictures are the only thing you can take away from the wedding. At the end of the day, everyone I know splurges on their photography and doesn't regret it. I'm sure you won't either. I have a feeling you chose your vendors well and I'm every excited to see the outcome! Money will be spent, but it can be made again. =) Now, if you went and told me that you spent $3000 on favors or $10000 on flowers, I might have to come over and boink you on the head ( ... )

Haha, that's hilarious! Thanks for the reassurance, San. I've gone through second guessing and regretting decisions several times over the past year. You're so right. Money will be made again.

Thanks for the insight on shower planning. I feel better now that I know that I'm not supposed to know everything that will happen. I'm feeling more anxious about the shower because I don't hang out often with the BM that is organizing it. I don't really know her entertaining style. With my b-party, I've partied with the other girls so many times that I felt comfortable with them keeping me in the dark. Also, I didn't have to worry about my mom, FMIL, and FSIL being at my b-party either. :D
