The shower was fun. I have a lot to say about it, but I'm mentally exhausted. Maybe I'll post more about it later. One of the guests was a no show. I later found out that she was in a car accident on her way to the shower. Mom was a no show too ( Read more... )

Well, I'm glad your shower was fun, but that's too bad that your mom didn't go. I wonder sometimes why our families are so clueless about weddings?!? Don't they know that this isn't about them, and the only thing we need from them is their support and a loving ear/shoulder to use?!? *Sigh* I hope things get better, and even if they don't, please don't let it ruin your day! You can't control how other people feel, you can only control how you feel!!!

Oh, I looked at your e-pics the other day and they were all so wonderful!! You both have them most amazing smiles...although I think my favorite was one of the last ones where you both just had a 1/2 smile (no teeth showing)!

Hi Kristin! Thanks for the advice. I'm feeling much better with regards to my mom. I know that I can't really count on her, even though she keeps saying that I can. Unfortunately, I'm not even counting on her showing up to the wedding. She upsets me, but I usually can get over it within a day or so. Hopefully, I won't let her ruin anymore days, especially my wedding day!

Sorry to hear that you're not having the best day. I'm glad you had fun at your shower and I hope that your friend is alright. I'm really sorry that your mom did not make it. It amazes me how many people that are a part of the wedding somehow make it about them when it is really about the two people that are getting married. Hope your day gets better, and we're always here to listen if you want to talk.

My friend is fine. She and her sister were a little sore, but overall they came out unscathed. The car, that's a different story though. :(

CJ- I'm glad that you had a good time at your shower. I'm sorry to hear that your mom couldn't make it and is causing you unnecessary stress. =( I can't imagine how tough it is on you. Definitely hope that your friend is ok. Us WC/LJ'ers will be here if you need a virtual "ear". =)

Hi San,

Thanks for the support. It's good to have people there for you, even if you're all virtual. Actually, my online buddies are just as important as my real life friends because we can give support almost immediately online, whereas I usually have to wait until after work hours to be able to all my friends on the phone!
