Does this cost anything per month to do? How much did the box cost?
It sounds like it's a lot like satellite tv now--several of the same channel just in different time zones.
I'm still skeptical about the whole thing myself. Besides, I thought it is only for older tvs--your tv shouldn't need the upgrade. You may have gotten ripped off. meh. We'll see what happens with our tv when the time comes :)
There is no monthly charge; you just have to get the box. It costs around 70 USD, but in the States you can get a coupon worth about $40.
It's kinda like satellite, but not in different time zones. As for whether our TV needs it or not, any TV manufactured within the last 10 years shouldn't need the upgrade. If you have cable or satellite then you wouldn't need the upgrade either.
The parents are planning on getting a high-def LCD TV. When they do, they'll simply give the box to me for my TV, which as you know is almost as old as we are!
