Winter is time for baking. Lots and lots of baking. So here's what I've made in the last week:
A batch of
peanut butter blossoms/pb kiss cookies, which I have no pictures of because half went to
seserakh and half went to Charleston to my sister. But they were pretty awesome anyway.
Gingerbread cupcakes... I used
this recipe and I personally am pretty iffy on it. I sent half a dozen of these to ses as well, maybe she can offer a verdict, dad and Jeremy both like them but I'm kinda eh about them. Also the bigass well in the middle of that cupcake (of course I cut up the only one that had one that bad) is what happens to cakes at high elevation. I guess it's pretty awesome if you really love frosting, but mostly it just annoys me.
Peanut butter chocolate chip cookies! I used the
Tollhouse recipe, subbed peanut butter for half the butter, used 1c brown sugar and 1/2c white for a softer, chewier cookie, and switched baking powder for the baking soda so they'd be puffier.
Cheesecake brownies, recipe from
here, and I will definitely be making these again. They took twenty minutes longer to bake than they were supposed to, but they're still tasty.
I also made roast beef for dinner last night, but we killed that off pretty quickly and barely-to-medium-rare roast beef isn't the most photogenic thing, anyway.
I WANT A KITCHENAID ARTISAN SO BAD, OMG. SERIOUSLY. :C
