There was a significant pause before the voice on the line began talking. "I saw your and might be interested in your services. Reach me at [insert number of an untraceable prepaid cell phone here]."
Ring ring ring ring ring ring ring banana untraceable phone! And it seems to be a trend, since the line calling Aya's will lead to a John Doe account in the Nexus.
The voice on the other end has a mixed accent. Like American with a hint of Scottish. The language is English but, since he's calling from the Nexus, maybe it will translate.
"Hello? This is Alec Mellan. I got a message to call this number with the promise of a possible business transaction."
"Wonderful. I can meet with you anywhere that you would find comfortable. I know of at least one cafe where people don't expect any kind of suspicious activity or we can meet at a place of your choosing."
Alec thinks he recognizes the origin of the accent but, without hearing certain syllables, he can't be quite sure.
True to his word, Alec appeared at the given coordinates exactly an hour later. He didn't ask for a description since most of his clients seemed wary to give such details over the phone, but maybe he should have asked for a landmark.
He craned his neck as he surveyed the area, making it obvious that he was looking for someone.
This was the time of evening when the families and children who played in the park during the day left, but before the people who used the park for other sorts of games by night arrived, so the park was mostly empty.
Aya looked almost respectable with long coat and briefcase. He noticed Alec looking around. Aya walked toward Alec and held out the business card.
Huh, this guy definitely looked familiar. Though, Alec couldn't tell if he'd talked to this guy in particular or an alternate. Not that that mattered since it would have been from a different 'lifetime' altogether. Alec smiled broadly at Aya. He liked the people who seemed to be all business.
"That would be me." Despite the colouring, the man definitely had an Asian look to him. Alec decided that a respectful bow was the best choice of greeting. "Can I ask your name, or would you rather keep that to yourself? Some people do since this transaction is all about a change, anyway."

"If you can do the things your ad suggests, then I want to do business. I don't want to talk about it over the phone."

"Aya.
"Do you have any proof that you can do what you claim to? What would you expect in exchange?"
