Here and there, there were distinct signs of said firewalls being tested -- from the outside, of course -- and in a few places, all but shredded. But they were still standing.

Still, there wasn't much he could do about a sense of dread hanging about the air (at least, that's what he thought it was). Elecman started mending the weakest, most battered parts of the firewalls, all the while, keeping an eye out and an attack in mind for anything peculiar.
