When You Pray, Move Your Feet

I.The world bustles around me. Cars roll by. A jogger smiles as she passes. I shuffle one foot forward and wince as my pubis joint sends a jolt of pain through my body. Even as I have articulated a value of "Kingdom of God" for myself, I don't know what to make of faith, either. I help run a conversation-based worship service once a month, but I can't say I am at peace with my ideas of God, or authority, or doctrine or dogma.

One of the comforts I have is knowing that all of this doubt, questioning, and exploring is an appropriate practice of my faith, as a UU. But I still find it frustrating sometimes. And then, it's even more complicated when I try to communicate my ideas with others.
