I just wanted to tell about my wonderful trip to Philly last weekend to visit Jenn. We had soooooo much fun! It was a wonderful break, and I have some cool photos too. Let me say first and foremost that I covet her apartment:
Hey Nicole! It's Laurel. I'm stalking you. No, not really, I just found your blog on Facebook. I'm so glad you enjoyed your time in Phily!!! It's a great city and I wish I'd had more free time that weekend to spend with you. Let me know when you make it back. :)
Oh yeah, according to the Clark Park website: "Clark Park is home to the world's only life-size bronze statue of author Charles Dickens and Little Nell.
There are actually a couple of ways of intepreting this sentence: 1. It's the only statue of Charles Dickens anywhere 2. It's the only *lifesized* statue of Charles Dickens anywhere 3. It's the only statue of Charles Dickens *and Little Nell* anywhere 4. It's the only *lifesized* statue *of Charles Dickens and Little Nell* anywhere 5. It's the only *bronze* statue of CD and LN ... I could go on. So I guess I was a little premature to say it's the only CD statue in the world. We need to do some more research. :)
"The only life-size bronze statue of Dickens, cast in 1891 by Francis Edwin Elwell, is located in Clark Park, Philadelphia, in the United States." but then, there are those qualifiers "life-size" and "bronze" again ... so I'm tempted to suspect there's some miniature, marble statue of Dickens in a park somewhere. :) Which would be awesome. Let's go find it.

You went to Philly and didn't even have a cheesesteak?!? What in the world is wrong with you? The most famous place for cheesesteak is even on this corner where TWO cheesesteak shops face each other and compete for business! Do you know what that means? That means that you can eat TWO cheesesteaks!!! I am so disappointed in you, Nicole. ;-) Just kidding. But still.
Knitting a row!

Oh, and I watched the Narwhal video from your previous posting...and it was AWESOME! Wooohooo! Okay then, talk to you later!!!

Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_Dickens) confirms that
"The only life-size bronze statue of Dickens, cast in 1891 by Francis Edwin Elwell, is located in Clark Park, Philadelphia, in the United States." but then, there are those qualifiers "life-size" and "bronze" again ... so I'm tempted to suspect there's some miniature, marble statue of Dickens in a park somewhere. :) Which would be awesome. and to think, we once could have lived in the Chancellor's house with a fountain and the Statue of David.
