Yeah, the girls at the hair college talked me out of ever using home box dye again with all the crazy shit it does to your scalp. I used to have some issues and honestly, I don't now that I go to them for all my hair dyeing needs lol. Probably still bad for you, but better to go to a professional than just use a box of chemicals on your head by yourself~
