What's the word?

Hey, everybody, I'm in Indiana. Everything's going pretty well. We're starting work in the actual store tomorrow, after two weeks of training people in the hotel. The store is weird and small and has some security issues, but it's nice. I'm moving into an apartment on the 14th, and if I'm lucky, all my stuff will be moving in on the same day. ( Read more... )

I vote for books. : ) We totally need more books. Or you should buy a really complicated bookshelf from IKEA, which of course, we'd have to drive to Chicago to get. I'm not sure what we would move it in, though, those are long. Huh. It'd have to be your car.

Also, how are you listening to In Flames and typing on my laptop? *scowl* Poor baby. I shall have to load it with lots of nice, wussy-type music when I get there.

You can order most Ikea things online/over the phone. I know this because we don't have Ikea here, but I do frequently love over their catalogs and website. It might be worth the shipping (possibly?) over the drive and figuring out how to get a big ass bookshelf home. Or they might be able to ship it back from the store if you buy it there, something stores don't like to advertise but usually will do if you ask.

Maybe you could do a combined JV/Ikea trip. That would be so awesome

Your house could be Ikea'd and swept bare.

: ) Hi. I've heard so much about you. It's nice to interact with you on some level after all the good things Will's told me.

I would totally be okay with a JV/Ikea trip. Really, the whole thing is just an excuse to go shopping in Chicago, which is just a few hours away from Fort Wayne, as opposed to the four that it is here in St. Louis. I just cringe at the thought of paying more for shipping than I do for the bookcase, especially since I get a discou...wait, that's an idea. I wonder if they would let me use my own FedEx account to get it to Fort Wayne. Intriguing. More importantly, I wonder if FedEx would get it there without breaking it.

Glad to hear things are good, let your employer know that if they want to pay for me to move I would happily accept.

That is another stellar idea. Like, seriously. I'm going to call Will right now and start lobbying.

I preferred back when I clocked in. I get paid for 40 hours no matter what I do and I generally work 45-50.

Curiously enough, this week is the exception. I've managed to only work 30 this week. I blame the Sugar Free Allstars

I hate clocking in. Like, the actual act of clocking in and out. I know it's basically a scam, but I couldn't get overtime before anyway, and they're paying me a shitload more money. I can live with it.

It is far cheaper to fly to Fort Wayne than anywhere you've lived. Way to go. Under $200 round trip.

Where would you stop? I assume there's not a direct from F-ville to FtW.
