So my boss just opened up his AutoCAD, and all his toolbars were gone, vanished, POOF'd!
He told me he had some error message about the Custom User Interface being corrupted or unavailable or something.

I wasn't there to see it unfortunately, but now he is counting on me to fix it.

Does anyone have experience with this?

sounds like you need to do a "menuload" (type at command line) and then browse for and reload the main CUI file. That's probably "acad.cui," but it depends on exactly which version you're using. And there may be other cui files you need to load, but again... depends on which version of CAD you're on. I hope that helps.

The CUI file location depends on your CAD version and whether you're on Vista or XP, but I might guess it would be here:
c:\documents and settings\(username)\application data\autodesk\(cad version)\enu\support

You may also want to try looking into profiles. The default one should allow you to restore the toolbars, as new, or if someone else has already mickeyed their environment and it was close to his, you can export that one over.

Profiles are under Tools * Options * Profiles tab, double-click the one you want, <> is the default; it loads the ACAD and CUSTOM menu groups.
