F1 - Monaco GP

Well, that was a bummer of a race :(. I got high hopes when Lew-Lew nicked the barriers earlier, but, as it turned out, most of the other drivers ended up having worse incidents.

Fernando... Kimi... I still love and adore you two, but I believe the Germans won't be too big fans of you after this race... *le sigh*

Fernando, crashing into Heidfeld in the hairpin (?), but maybe Kimi would become the bigger 'villain' by slamming to the back of little Adrian Sutil, ending his chance to finish his (and Force India's) best ever result.

I'm no particular fan of Sutil, but I gotta say that my heart broke a little for the guy.

The race was very eventful, but I must honestly say that my enthusiasm level just goes *WOOF* straight out the window when Fernando and Kimi are no longer in contention. I was falling asleep towards the end.

They ended up finishing 9th and 10th (Kimi ahead), unfortunately JUST outside the last point-paying position.

Once again, I despair F1 for not granting points beyond the Top 8, because, after a race such as today's? I believe EVERY driver who managed to soldier through and actually finished deserved some points.

'Would've loved to see Kubica win for the first time, but it wasn't to be :(.

This race was one of the few that came down to the 2-hour limit, the drivers eventually not having enough time to complete all of the 78 pre-determined laps.

I was so bummed out after this race (and aggravated like a mother-effer, really, when I heard those ITV bastards ecstatically shout out Lew-Lew's win), that I went hunting for something, anything, that'd cheer me up...

Slightly LIVERPOOL FC-ish, but, hey, it made me smile when I saw it :D.

I was also happy to note that there were a lot of Spanish flags displayed throughout the track (and at one point, happily alongside a Finnish flag).

Another one:

Michael Schumacher, wistfully watching Alonso go around the track. Who knew I'd find someone whose guts I hate more than him? I'd even like to see ol'Schumi beat Lew-Lew up and down the track.

And one more:

Kimi and Heikki at a McLaren Mercedes-sponsored fashion show. Tres cute.

Must sleep now. I'll catch NASCAR tomorrow. Longest race in the season!

I'll also still have the French Open to keep me company after my shows have finalé-ed. Go Nadal and Djokovic!

nascar, tennis, f1, sport
