why compare only to fast food? (509, 77 of which are just McD's) and not just restaurants? (753) or pharmacies? (181) or liquor stores? (424, 200 of which cite beer specifically)
How do these places work? Who prescribes the marijuana? Your own doctor, for glaucoma or whatever, or does the dispensary do it? I'm impressed by the sheer number of these things going into business now, and have to think it's being prescribed for quite a number of maladies to support the business.

"Phenomenon" is what I'd call this. A little loophole in the law passed by the people, and suddenly there are too many places to count.. places with names like "Daddy Fat Sacks" (seriously.)
Some dispensaries have doctors on site, and you go in and tell them you have chronic pain, or glaucoma, or a woobly stomach, or a hangnail, or split ends, and for maybe $100 the doctor- wink, wink nudge,nudge- gives you a license with which you can go in the next room and buy Panama Red. Or Maui Wowee. Or B Sharp. Take your pick. Some dispensaries have hundreds of strains on hand.
All legal. You just need a card to walk in the door of any establishment in town.
