So I went in to meet the potential pediatrician this afternoon (Daddy was at work, so he had to miss it...he was not so much the pleased about this).
They're all AAP board-certified, and not just GPs who claim to be pediatricians.
There is a Pediatric Infectious Disease specialist on staff in the practice.
They deal with lots of asthmatics, which is good should the need arise (though, honestly, he'd probably be taken to see my pulmonologist).
They are not averse in the least bit to Genentech and Novartis continuing follow-up on Marcello once he's here so they can see what effect (if any) the Xolair has had on him in-utero (HUGE bonus for them).
They seem to be very keen on the notion of helping to get the much-desired breast pump covered by my insurance, and have the same philosophy as we do on the matter of breastfeeding (if this is TMI for any of you, get over it. We all knew it would happen eventually. :-p).
They have hours on SATURDAY if need be (YAY, because Daddy will be working Monday - Friday at that point!!!), have nurses on call 24 hours a day along with one of the staff peds, and will get him in same day if necessary (another HUGE bonus for them).
I think they win.
On another note, BAD Sheila for caving in to the craving for the gummy bears!!!!
