I'm sitting at home, watching the election coverage, contented but not ecstatic about the presidential election. But now the voting is being counted for state propositions. And I cannot believe my eyes: Proposition 8 is going to pass

Ugh. I just, I just can't. I mean honestly cannot conceive of the mindset wherein you would deny two consenting adults the opportunity to share their lives with one another, where you would make their love illegal. The world needs all the fucking love it can get. Even overlooking the fact that there is nothing wrong with being homosexual, we really can't afford to be picky about what kind of love people invest in the world. How can love be a bad thing? (in the absence of harm to the two parties involved, of course)
I could keep going, but I'm really just preaching to the choir, aren't I?
Nothing has ever politically motivated me, or made me so irate, as the passage of this idiotic measure in the state that I belong to.
