Farewell and Prompts

Jan 05, 2010 15:32

For a number of reasons, including the steady decline in activity over the last year or so, Fi and I have decided to leave Caer Awen as it stands. So as of now, there will be no more posts or new prompts. But! In parting, we bequeath to you and your continued writing progress the 465 prompts (yes, I just added another 60 from our magical reserves) ( Read more... )

Thank you for closing out the comm. ♥ And also for giving a bonus 60 prompts! I was all "...were we really that low on prompts?" but I just checked our GoogleDoc file, so I guess we weren't. XD

Anyhow. It was awesome running this comm with you. And to everyone who participated, thank you. We had an awesome three years together.

I am, of course, very sad that caer_awen is no more. I know that I found the gumption to write Chrysalis and the ideas for many more books from this community. And for that, I am eternally grateful.

Thank you for an amazing run. This comm has inspired a lot of my writing, and I'll forever be grateful. Just don't sue me when all my chapter titles are based on caer_awen prompts, mkay? <3

Wow 465... That's nuts! And I'm sad that this place is closing for good. (And just after I'd used a prompt to inspire another short piece too. Ah well.) I've always really liked the prompts as they could be taken as literally or metaphorically as we wanted and some just made my mind go places. There's tons of fantastic ones and no doubt I'll continue to use them for inspiration when I need a good kick.

I will say that if it weren't for C_A, I probably wouldn't have kept writing as much as I did or developed my own original work as much as I did. Man, some of the most enjoyable pieces I've written were for here!

It stinks that we never really got to see pieces from all members more often (or at all.)

Thanks for memories!
