People don't realize that driving is really straining on the muscles of the back, neck, arms, and legs. I had a 45 minute drive to work a year and a half ago and for the past year and a half i've had a 30 minute drive, both ways. So, that adds an extra HOUR AND A HALF to your workday. You're not working 9 hour days, you're working 10 and a half hour days. That's more than 52 hours a week. 12 HOURS of overtime. Hope that puts the exhaustion and crankiness into perspective! (i had to violently explain this to my husband, several times, before he was like, OH OK! And I usually work 44 hours a week without figuring in an extra 5 hours of drive time a week! I feel ya!)

The first year teaching is hell by itself, let alone trying to make friends at the same time.
Some of my best college friends I STILL haven't seen since graduation. I miss them all really bad!
I know talking online doesn't make up for not seeing people, but I'm here if you ever want to talk!
