Since I've mapped out a few possible fics to write for different fandoms and the like, I tried to sit down and write today. Sadly, it was not to be. It's been so long since I've written that when I sat, I started to feel very warm trying to get words down. Nothing seemed to be any good, and I quickly got frustrated. Usually I'm pretty cool with

Hmm, in this situation (assuming you've already decided the fandom and whatnot) I usually run through the series again, especially key scenes that somehow tie into whatever it is I'm trying to write (e.g. if it's action, I look up a fight sequence, etc.) or just pick up some other material I think might help/inspire me.

If all else fails, just chain your muse to your desk and make her work like she's supposed to. ;)
