As the Thunder Rolls Out

We were helpless but to sit and wait for her to pass, like a violent storm in the blackest of nights. And even though the rumbling was distant and the lightning unable to reach our shelter, there was the quaking of fear deep in our hearts... for humans perhaps fear most that which they are unsure about. Could we only see into her head, past those ( Read more... )

the great tragedy at hand, overdramatic metaphoring, coffee, weariness

Rai Rai Ken? Can I duck there for a little bit? I'm trying to find a guy named Minato about some weapons, but there's too many crabs out.

Okay... I can't say I understood all that, but I think I got most of it.

QUIT WHINING. Talk like that isn't gonna make things any better! We can take this thing down, but nothing's gonna get done if you just sit around and complain about how its tearing up the town. You have to do something! Stop "picking up the wreckage" and start making sure the wreckage doesn't happen. Sheesh... All you need is a powerful enough weapon. All it takes is to find out what that weapon is.

Well, aren't we a little loose cannon? Better be careful, amiga, those have a tendency to backfire and explode if you don't aim them right.

If you've got any ideas to that note, please, do sing them for me. And do stop calling my musings "whining". Those who never stop and reflect will never see the section of the painting behind them. That's one of my rules.

Then I'll aim it right.

Hey, I'm still working on getting myself used to this place. I'll get to it eventually! I've still got a whole line of projects to complete first!

So stop painting them in such a depressing light! Yeah, it's destroying the city, but it's possible to present the facts without making them seem that horrible. What do you think others are supposed to think when they read that, huh?

You're aiming it at me instead of Mama Grande. And my poetry isn't depressing, amiga! It's simply complex. I certainly hope I'm not dragging anybody down-- you'll see no smile bigger than mine through trials and tribulations.

I find it more comforting to present the facts and the bitter truth than to sugarcoat and soften them.

Oi, are you always like this?

Of course. A man must never be more or less than himself.

A man? Don't make me laugh.

Hey, that helmet... thing. What is it? Did you modify yourself?

Oh, this? I merely wear it as all men do-- a mask, whether on their faces or over their hearts. We rarely make them, but must bear their weight nonetheless.

I'm alright, hope you're hanging in there Godot...I'll be stopping by as always whether I'm hurt or not.

What happened between you and Wolf?

When you can't hang on anymore, switch to your feet. That's one of my rules. But I'm glad you're all right. It's always nice to see your smiling face, especially when you're enjoying my coffee.

And it was nothing to worry about.

Heh, well I'm always on my feet.

You sure? You know I'm totally willing to bust some heads for you

(ooc: strikes are legible if you wish XD)

Ha...! Well, that's the way it is for some of us! But as you always say, people learn to adapt.

That's very sweet? of you to offer, Molita, but no worries. It was a matter between men settled between men. And I'm more than capable of busting heads... as he found out.

But, heh, don't solve your problems with violence-- for violence is the last refuge of the weak. That's one of my rules.

Wait...you mean to say that beast has been walking around wherever it wants?! I thought it just stayed in the forest! Huff puff! ...Although I suppose it's easy to know when that thing's coming?

Hrrrr, I've endured worse, so I guess it's okay. And I wish more folks were willing to forgive cruel reflexes! You still need to show me how to make more of the coffee, hehhr.

Of course. This is Mama Grande's town. She doesn't seem to attack people directly... it's just getting caught in her path that you want to avoid. Vastly. Ask me sometime.

And I figure until I can control my own urges, I better not get anybody's case for the same. Let the sinless one cast the first stone. That's not one of my rules, but I follow it anyway. You're on for coffee anytime you like.

Good to know, good to know! I see no reason to endanger myself against any smelly monsters, so I'll move out of the way fast if I spot her.

...Why, did you encounter her at some point? Hohh, is that the reason for the blindness?

Reply

cafedeinfierno April 6 2008, 06:20:25 UTC
Ha...! No, no, I was blind before I came here.

Last time she came around, I almost headed out kissing a car she flung in my general direction. I'm a better dodger than I thought.
