I am normally the type to ramble a bit, but this morning I find I've got surprisingly little to say. Maybe there's something in my coffee or maybe I'm just in a quiet sort of mood, but I think I'll just get to the point today.

Now hiring able-bodied individuals for a variety of different odd jobs. All interested parties please inquire within.

up to something, metaphorese, coffee quest, maybe not a coffee quest, i think he has a fever

Yikes! Diego, are you feeling okay?

Hey now, little sister. A lack of my usual verbal diarrhea might be seen as a good symptom to some people.

Ew. That was an awful metaphor. You really must be feeling bad!

Nothing I'm not used to. Don't worry about it.

Did someone say odd jobs?

Well, my name isn't Odd for nothing.

I never dreamed a simple statement would breed such a terrible pun.

How do you feel about search and rescue?

Most of the time people don't know when they're being led right into it with me.

Search and rescue? I'm pretty able and willing. I did help lead the stealth team into Central Park, if that tells you anything.

Most of the time people just have no idea what I'm talking about.

That tells me a good deal, as a matter of fact. I'm looking for a few good men to perform an extraction of some pretty dark beauties from the ruins of the city for me.

Odd jobs? What is that supposed to mean?

Reply

cafedeinfierno June 14 2009, 20:04:35 UTC
A variety of small tasks, or "jobs" with no real connecting theme to them, making them somewhat "odd".

And what do these jobs entail? If they're nothing too far below my social standing, Mitsurugi Hanagata might be willing to assist.

Perhaps I might be willing to hire you, then. Assuming a search and rescue operation of sorts is not too much dirty work for such an esteemed individual as yourself.

I'm... something of a medic. Though I don't have magic.

The only magic I believe in comes black as night and steaming in a porcelain cup.

Um... what do you mean?

Magic is the art of sleight of hand. Distracting your audience from the truth with special effects and smoke and mirrors. It's simply a very theatrical form of lying.

Real magic, on the other hand, involves taking the tiniest bean from an ordinary plant and shaping it into the dark desires of the soul. The very essence of mankind itself.

Hey, I said you could call on me for anything you need, didn't I? Be glad to help with any oddities.

Good. I'm looking for a few good men and women.

Can get you a few of each, if need's calling.

I'll have to go into detail through another medium. But suffice to say, there are black jewels of truth hidden in the darkness and the debris of this city, and I won't rest until they are uncovered and brought to my attention.
