Usually I don't even consider the road trips to conquor my wishlist of my favorite bands and their near shows that are only hours from pensacola. I usually dismiss them with the excuse of needing to work and be miserable and save my money. But, for some reason, I've thrown that theory out the fucking window and I have seen three of my most played ( Read more... )

Thanks, Renee! I'm going to focus on biology, radiography/sonography, and nuclear medicine.

Um, that is what I do!!!! I'm a registered radiologic technologist and I'm actually taking my registry exam for MRI tomorrow so I am freaking out! My best friend at work is a nuc med tech too! If you have any questions at all about anything...what to study, the test, etc please don't hesitate to ask!!!

yes, i am grateful for any tips i can get! the university i'm attending doesn't offer nucl. med studies/programs, so what i'm thinking of doing is just study like a biology major, get my AA and then transfer to another university that offers the courses and registries nucl. med requires, I need to get as much federal funding as possible. And in the state of Florida, grants and scholarships are cut off once you get a bachelor's degree. a friend mentioned to me to focus on radiography OR sonography FIRST before I go into nuclear medicine because the changes in technology are making it more marketable if I have a background in radiography first.

any feedback would be much appreciated! I'm starting from scratch with no college credits what so ever, So whatever you reccommend I should focus on for classes is greatly appreciated.

I'm sure you did GREAT on your registry exam!

yes, i definitely recommend doing radiography first before doing nuc. med b/c you will become acquainted w/ radiation and its effects (unlike sonography which uses sound waves).

the courses i recommend taking would be MATH (esp. for nuc. med where a lot of math is required - part of the reason why i didn't go for nuc. med!), anatomy, physiology, biology definitely, physics, chemistry...i'm naming some of the courses that i had to take before i was even admitted to the program.

the marked for imaging techs is not so great right now :( the market is really saturated...i don't know about FL, but here in OH it is. too many graduates in the field and not enough jobs. i know the job market is supposed to open up w/ all the baby boomers and such, but its hard right now.

and thank you! i passed my MRI registry this morning w/ a 91 (exactly what i got on my radiography exam, hah!)...now here's to hoping i get a job!

any more questions you can think of ask away!!!
