[Canon] Thor, Marvel, Avengers, Movie
[Point in time taken from canon] Right at the start of his joining The Avengers.

[Background]

Thor was born to Odin and Frigga, leading a privileged life as son of a king with his brother, Loki. He was a happy child and on his eighth birthday he was given Mjölnir, his hammer.

Thor grew and had adventures with his friends occasionally going to Midgard to mess with the mortals their, or to other realms to drink and fight. Taught by the best privet tutors of Asgard, he was raised to one day take the throne of Asgard and rule the Realm.

Before he can take the throne of Asgard, his brother, lets Ice Giants into Asgard, which leads to leaping before thinking Thor to want to take action against the realm of the Ice Giants. His actions nearly gets his friends killed and his Father Odin comes and collects them trying to prevent a war. This leads to a fight with his Father getting him banished to Midgard.

During his time on Midgard, Thor goes through changes, stripped of his powers, and with his hammer taken away blocked off from his family, he learns lesions in humility.

In Midgard Thor meets Jane Foster an astrophysicist who he becomes smitten with and helps him out in Midgard or tries to. Because despite her help his oddities can not be hid by jeans and a t-shirt. Jane shows him that there is more to life then wars, drinking and adventure. Jane helps him learn that caring for and helping others is a key part of life as well.

Thor’s sprit is crushed not only when he realizes he cannot pick up his hammer but when Loki informs him (lies to him) about the death of his Father, and his mother no longer loving him. This is the moment Thor realizes how much his actions effect others and how much damage he would have done with the choices he would have made as king.

Resigned to live life in Midgard and try and be a better person than he used to be, and he is taken by surprise when his friends show up and inform him of his brother’s betrayal.

Thor’s powers and “godhood” return to him when he is willing to sacrifice himself for the lives of innocents. He returns to Asgard to stop his brother and save his family and his Realm. In the end Thor sacrifices being able to return to Jane by destroying the Bifrost, and is distraught by both watching what he believes is his brother’s death, and losing contact with Jane.

Upon finding away back to Midgard he returns to join the Avengers and help combat his bother to save Midgard.

[Personality]

Thor at times acts before he thinks things through all the way, though this aspect of him was slightly tamed by his father stripping him of his powers and sending him to Earth it still happens from time to time.

He may come off as arrogant at times, but that is not really the case anymore. It is more that he doesn’t fully understand how things in Midgard work from a social aspect. Which can lead to awkward moments and people thinking that Thor believes he is better then them. He doesn’t deny that he is awesome, but also knows he still has a lot to learn before he can become as good of a king as his father is.

Deep down he truly is a Mother and Father’s boy; he has a deep love for is family, his friends and his home world. Which is why what is going on with Loki hurts him so much. He tries to understand why Loki is doing what he is and why Loki is the way he is, but has trouble because their parents never loved him less then they did Thor, at least in Thor’s eyes.

On Midgard, at times he feels out of place, and misses his home world and his parents, friends and the rest of his family. But he knows that Midgard needs his help against Loki. He does not look forward to the fight with his brother, and he plans to just do his best and drag Loki home instead of letting the Midgard authorities deal with him.

He blames himself for what is going on with Loki, and thinks that maybe if he had been a better older brother, or brother in general, things wouldn’t be the way they are now. He would apologize to Loki given the chance.

While Thor might not always think before he acts, he is not the dumb blond people assume he is. Sometimes that assumption gets to him. Just because he talks differently does not mean he is dumb.

Thor can get a little rowdy at times and loves having fun and new experiences in Midgard with his new found family which is how he views the Avengers, as his family on Midgard.

Note: Some of the stuff with him being connected to hammer ( ie hammer gets hurt he does) is not in his canon yet, as I am playing from a mix of comic movie verse and comic. So at this point in my Thor’s life that hasn’t happened yet. But it could.

[Other important stuff]

Other then he is going to have so many socially awkward moments that I can’t wait?

[Sample post]

[First Person]

- What do you think of your home world?

What can I say about Asgard? It is the most beautiful of the Realms, and is my home, (period) it is where I grew to a man, it is where my parents and family are, it is where I played as a child and where learned many life lessons.

How could one not love a place where nature, science and life blend into one? The lack of nature in Midgard I find troubling. It seems it is a Realm made out of concrete or at least that much of it is, and you have little regard for nature and your planet. I find it troubling, and at times it makes me miss my home greatly.

I had never had a more painful moment in my life when I was banished from it and cut off from all I know. Now that pain has be eclipsed by the problems my brother is causing, and the pain he is bring to our Mother and Father.

But to answer your question simply I love Asgard, with all my soul.

- If you could go back home, would you? Why or why not?

[ Thor pauses for a moment and thinking ] Well that depends on what you mean by home. Do you mean my home in Midgard? Or my home in Asgard?

Either would be agreeable, unless there is a need for my assistance here. But I must make it clear to you I do not appreciate being brought here against my will. You simply could have asked for help and I would have more then likely given it.

But with what my brother is planning for Midgard I fear my help may be needed there more.

But since I am here, I will help, until I find away back to the Realms with which I am familiar with. Do know that I do not take kindly to people playing games with other people’s free will.

- Someone comes to you to ask for the time. How would you respond?

[ Thor laughs a little. ] What a silly question, I give them the time. What else does one do when asked the time?

- You see a bloody knife on the floor. What do you do or think?
That someone has been injured and needs assistance, and that whoever hurt them is both unarmed now and foolish to leave their weapon behind or has another weapon on their person.

I would search for the injured person to make sure they are not in mortal danger and then search for the perpetrator of the crime.

- Do you have any future goals or dreams? What are they?

To be as good and just a King as my Father is, I know now I still have much to learn. While that is a long-term goal. Right now I would be happy with making thing right between Loki and I and bring him home to his family, but that will more than likely be another long term goal, I can not give up on him, because he will always be my brother. No matter what he says.

- Oh look, there's a double rainbow! [For this prompt, write how your character would react if someone randomly shouted and pointed to the sky saying this line.]

[ Thor smiles brightly and looks at the sky. ] Oh I wonder who is coming to visit me! It will be good to see some of my old and dear friends again. [ Starts walking toward the rainbow.]

- Do you believe you can fly? Do you believe you can touch the sky?
Yes. I can fly. As long as I have my hammer I am able to fly. But I feel this may be some Midgard pop culture joke that I do not understanding. I will have to ask Clinton about this.

- How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?

Do not be silly. Woodchucks cannot chuck wood at all, thus they wouldn’t chuck any. Are you sure you are not thinking of beavers? You must be thinking of beavers. A beaver would chuck quit a lot of wood considering they build their homes from it.

[Third Person]

It is pouring down rain, a form of weather that Thor has always enjoyed. He walks along the street enjoying the rain’s splat, splat, splat, against his umbrella. The streets are relatively empty; it seems so few people enjoy the rain as he does.

So it doesn’t trouble him too much when his umbrella is torn and blow away by a gust of wind. He pauses for a moment and raises his face to the sky letting his eyes fall closed and the rain was over him refreshing him as if it was recharging something deep with in him. Thor lets out a relaxed sigh and decides he should get out of the rain.

He frowns at the first place it wouldn’t provide much shelter from the storm not that he minded the rain. So he keeps walking along the road, coming to the second place, which looks even less welcoming then the first despite its solid structure. Obviously abandoned, but the blood running from the windows gives him pause. A structure with bleeding walls would be a foolish place to run into with out assistance even if you are The God of Thunder.

What a strange place this is. Thor thinks as he watches the bleeding house. It is like something out of the scary stories my father used to tell Loki and I. He watches the bleeding house for another moment; it would make for a good adventure on another day, with clearer weather and a few more friends.

He continues down the road and smiles as the sky lights up with lighting and shakes with thunder. He spots a warm welcoming looking hotel that seems fit for one of the princes of Asgard.

He enters the ornate lobby dripping water all the way up to the counter and gets himself a room for until the storm passes because even Gods of thunder (Thunder) get colds.

After Thor gets himself cleaned up and dried off, he sits in front of the large window and watches the storm rage out side. His thoughts turn to other things, like what is happening in Midgard in his absence. He wasn’t worried about Asgard his Mother and Father could handle that, but who was going to help his friends combat his brothers dark plans for the planet that held so much he cared for.

But he was stuck here and there was not much he could do. He could only hope that Steven, Anthony, and the others would be able to handle Loki. He was fairly sure they could, but he also knew that they would not have as much mercy for Loki as he would. If he lost Loki, truly lost Loki after all that he has done to try and bring him home, it very well may crush him.

Thor gets up from the window seat and starts to click off the lights around the room and lays down on the bed, still listening to the storm letting it lull him to sleep, trying to forget the worries that always came in quiet times like this.

[Why do you want to play this character in Somarium?]

Because I think it would be fun to toss Thor into yet another Realm he has no idea about, he may have his powers but he will still be weirdedout.

Also I enjoy a bunch of the Muns you have in this game and so it will be fun to have someplace to play him with friends.

[Which rule was your favorite and why?]

❖ be nice to other players
Don't flame a player, character, or pairing. If you have a problem with someone, either speak to them about it in a rational and mature manner or take it up with a mod. We want to keep the drama to a minimum.

I like this one because, we are all just here to have fun, and if people aren’t being cool with one another it just sucks the fun out of it, and I assume we are all old enough to talk to each other about issues we may have. It just makes things more fun if you can get along and have fun which each other.

[Where did you hear about Somarium?]
Friend. The Mun who plays your Cap, and the Peggy that is applying enabled the hell out of me.
