I love Kira and the way she evolved throughout the run of DS9 ♥ Out of everyone, she had the most satisfying character arc, I think. Have you read any of the books set after the series, where Kira is in charge?

I totally agree, aside from her arc/evolution being the most visual from everyone else (from being suspicious and hostile to caring and frim (minus hostility)), it really was very satisfying. How many books were there set after the series? I never got around to reading them but I am curious =)
