Score! Yesterday I made baby biscuits for Isabel. She loves them! In fact, so far they seem to be successfully substituting for paper when she wants to chew.

BABY TEETHING STICKS
2/3 cup milk
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 tbsp brown sugar
1 cup wheat germ
4 tbsp butter, melted
Beat together milk, butter, and sugar. Stir in enough wheat germ and flour until you have a good-consistency dough. Knead until smooth and satiny (8-10 minutes). Pinch off and roll into sticks ½" thick and 4" long. Bake on a greased cookie sheet at 350ºF 15-20 minutes or until browned and hard.

I increased the sugar about a tbsp to taste. I have read that if you store your flour unrefrigerated, it goes bad in about a week and it becomes bitter. I can't refrigerate all my flour! So maybe it is too bitter, and that's why I needed more sugar.

Anything that stops her chewing our books and magazines is awesome!
