Yeah, between him working with Trent Reznor and Zack de la Rocha, I pretty much love most of what he does!

I will be looking for some of that. I am highly intrigued.

I have always been interested in matriarchal societies, but fear that similar problems would arise. I actually just read a fantasy trilogy in which males/females were substantially equal. It wasn't at all a main point of the books, which was what made it so fascinating...but the events in the books didn't give a chance to see the society evolve as such. The author has written some other trilogies and I am going to look into them and see if they are based in the same type of bilinear culture. If not, she lives in Washington...perhaps I'll just pop by her house on the way back to Oregon and ask her.

You should definitely check out Saul Williams. I sugggest Our Father, Black Stacey, Not In My Name, Fearless, La La La, and Wine, among others. He actually just came out with a new CD that I haven't heard anything from yet.

I agree with matriarchal societies would have just as many--albeit different--problems are patriarchal societies. It would still be cool, though, just because it would be a change from out own culture. I think you should definitely stop by her house on the way to Oregon.
