i like you once, i like you twice, onew/key (*prompt) 375 words

Jinki thinks everything is going work out in the end. No, he knows it will so when Kibum ignores his confession for the first time, he doesn't give up. Because he thinks he just got the wrong timing and wrong words out of his mouth.

Because it happens on a really cold snowy November night, and their coats are drenched in snow and they are freezing, lips shivering and teeth chattering. And he knows that Kibum is just too tired and sleepy to give a coherent reply, and when he doesn't even consider Jinki's confession (he is yawning with little slits as eyes) and shuts the door with a loud bang, Jinki doesn't think too much of it. Instead, he tugs at the blanket on Kibum and makes sure that it completely covers Kibum from toes to neck.

He wouldn't want Kibum to catch a cold now, does he?

Jinki's next confession, though, doesn't come a few weeks after that situation. He can't help it, but it's not like he delayed it himself (well, actually, ok. Kibum rejecting him kind of hurt, only a little, but still). They've been busy, very busy, with new promotions and variety shows buzzing around. He says, "Ok let's do this" to himself but it always ends up futile as there is always some last minute schedules they've been given and they just can't say no. And as a leader, he thinks it is very important that his members get enough rest so he doesn't bother.

That is, until it is Kibum who shuffles into his bed one starry January night. He is lightly shoved to the side and Kibum grabs on the covers and tugs on his arm, and decides that it is, yes one of the most comforting arm pillows ever, and that he is going to use it tonight.

That same night, Jinki thinks that it's okay when the dreaded tomorrow finally comes and his arm is still numb, or that it's also okay that if later that night, Kibum takes the blankets for himself and leaves him ice cold, and that his confession can still wait a few days, or weeks.

And that it is also very okay if Kibum decides to do this every night.

handshakes and milkshakes, onew/key (*prompt) 1253 words

Kibum has always hated hot days. It always makes him sweaty and everyone knows he didn't like sweat, it also made it hard for his eyes. "Gah," he grumbles, swiping a hand on his forehead and beads of sweat sticking to the back of his palm. He sticks his tongue out in disgust as he wipes his kind of wet hand to Jonghyun's t-shirt.

"Hey! That's so disgusting," Jonghyun jerks away from Kibum's hand but it is too late, "and this was my favorite shirt, too" he frowns as he sees the wet half hand print on his shirt. He shoves Kibum away but he has a little too quick reflex and dodges. "It's no fair," Kibum only smirks at this, only remembering that he is supposed to be fuming angry because of the heat.

"Want to get something cold? Like milkshakes, wait, I know this really cool place with cheap but great milkshakes we can go there, hey, let's go," And it is Jonghyun's machine mouth that Kibum doesn't get a say and half drags his feet and half walking while Jonghyun is pulling at his wrist (he is tired, too, but he lets Jonghyun pull him because he needed a drink and he will make Jonghyun pay for his shake and he will save money and they are also very sweaty, really).

So here they are, after ten full minutes of walking and dragging of feets (Kibum's) and whining and sweat. But they're finally here and it's.

"What the heck, Jonghyun," Kibum looks at his surroundings. Jonghyun had taken him to a small street that it looks like an alley ('Well at least it doesn't smell like dried piss'), and only a few, really few amount of people are walking around, some disappearing by the curve, "Did you take me here to dispatch of me, because I'm warning you I have cat claws and I am, with no hesitation, going to claw out your eyeballs and balls and"

"No, ew, Kibum," Jonghyun shivers at the thought, "What is with you and balls, but no, this is it, actually,"

Jonghyun points at a shady building in front of them, smiling as if he had just taken Kibum to Disneyland.

'This' actually looks like a rundown place, with their sign broken and the M missing from 'Milkaches', what?

"Are you kidding me? This," Kibum finds a word to describe the hideous place, but finds none, "this place is the one with great milkshakes? Cheap, I can agree - they might even contain worms and rat intestines, oh god, I am not entering that place, no,"

Jonghyun shakes his head at him, "I'm disappointed. Have you ever not heard the saying, 'Do not judge a book by its cover'? Come on, wait until you get inside."

"No, Jonghyun, I will not,"

But Jonghyun doesn't give him time to finish his sentence. He does all means just to get Kibum inside (and that torture included tickling, blackmailing and a lot of puppy dog eyes).

The inside is actually a lot better than the outside, definitely. ('Wow, I'm surprised they don't smell like piss' 'Kibum, can you please stop implying that everything that looks like rundown smells like piss' 'What? I'm just saying!') The floral wallpaper is still intact, and there are a few (surprisingly) well furnished sofas around and booths, too. There is an indie music playing and it catches Kibum's ears, and it smells so wonderful.

Surprise must have been in Kibum's face because Jonghyun has a smug smirk on his lips, "I told you so."

"Shut up," Kibum elbows his stomach and settles in a seat very close to the door (just in case, he says).

There are already thin laminated menus on top of the tables and they both order a milkshake each.

"Thank you for coming, sir." A nice old waitress settles their milkshakes on their tables, "you can pay at the counter. Come again!"

"Wow, they actually let you drink first before paying?" Kibum's eyes are wide, both in confusion and oh god, the coolness of the milkshake is very, very nice on his tongue. "This is actually nice, very nice."

Jonghyun only raises a (once again, smug) eyebrow at Kibum, he steals a sip out of his drink as revenge.

After they are done, and Kibum goes with Jonghyun to pay at the counter ('What? You told me to get a milkshake, so you obviously have to pay', Kibum says to Jonghyun as if it's a very obvious thing in the world). And they are talking but then someone appears behind the counter and Kibum is starstruck and he doesn't know why but he pushes Jonghyun out of the way.

"Good morning, sir." Kibum is momentarily blinded by the young man's smile and eyes, and everything, honestly. His eyes are a blur and his ears hear nothing, but he suddenly sees the young man's hand reach out, his mouth still moving. Kibum gives him his hand and then there is suddenly Jonghyun's annoying snicker in his ears.

"Um," the cashier stutters, he takes Kibum's hand in surprise, and looks at him with confused eyes but he takes his hand nonetheless.

Kibum is still in a daze.

"I'm sure you have fine hands, sir, but we only take cash," the cashier sends him an apologetic smile, but he doesn't let go of Kibum's hand. Then, all of the sudden, Kibum is back in reality and he thinks he just came out of a fairytale (Him as the princess, the cashier as his prince and Jonghyun, obviously, as the villain). The villain is doubling over in laughter behind him and his prince is still smiling. He takes his hand away as if electrocuted and sputters.

"I'm sorry, but I'll pay," Jonghyun finally thinks it is a good time to butt in and Kibum thinks that, for once, Jonghyun isn't as dumb as he usually is. "Oh, and a tip."

"I'm very thankful, sir, but we don't accept tips," the cashier looks surprised, and stares at Jonghyun's closed palm.

Jonghyun only winks at him, taking his hand and putting whatever he had in his palm into the young man's hand.

"Don't worry, Jinki," Jonghyun squints at the nametag pinned on the cashier's breast pocket. "I'm sure you'll be much more thankful after this." And he pulls Kibum with him, because Kibum is still sputtering with his eyes wide. Jonghyun would have taken a picture if only he isn't afraid of Kibum's wrath.

A few weeks later and Kibum's phone is ringing, and then he is suddenly squealing and gripping at Jonghyun's arms like he wanted to snap it in two and he is jumping up and down.

"Cashier man boy just texted me," he squeals in Jonghyun's ear, finally calming down but his face is still red and his fingers are swoosh on his phone's keypad.

"Yeah, you owe me one," Jonghyun has a smirk hanging on his lips, and he takes a peek in Kibum's phone.

"I'm going to treat you to milkshake tomorrow," Kibum is still distracted.

"No deal, because I think after today, every milkshake we will have is going to be free."

"Oh yeah, right."

Then Jonghyun finally joins Kibum's squeals, asking him what would he wear and when would their date be and what their future children's names would be and that he had to be Kibum's best man, or Jinki's, whichever he decides not to ditch in the end.

Kibum agrees, and slaps Jonghyun on the arm.

somewhere, somehow, onew/key (*prompt) a standalone sequel to this. 157 words

Jinki had already seen it happening right from the start, he had expected it. From their trainee days, to their debut and it had already been a year but he's still drowning. Drowning in his tears, his thick red blood, in this bottomless dark pit of thrown away dreams and harsh expectations he'd built in his head a few years ago.

He never minded it at first, because he had been young, immature, careless. But now that he's living his own life, now that he has his own path to walk, he decided to stop. To stop falling, to stop drowning. To learn how to climb, to learn how to swim.

With Kibum in his arms like this and with him lovingly whispering things like, "I'll save you, hyung" and "I'll help you" in his ears during sleepless nights, he thinks that he can make it out alive. Not without scars, but still alive and breathing.

Somehow.

and when we wake up, onew/key (*prompt) 377 words

"Jinki," Kibum finds a comfortable spot next to Jinki, tangling their feet together and automatically attaching his side to Jinki's, "Jinki, are you sleepy?"

Jinki hums, hooking an arm around Kibum's waist. "Why, baby?"

"I, I just have questions," he says, accepting Jinki's warm body and intertwining his hands with his. "If it's okay."

"Okay," Jinki chuckles. Kibum thinks of hitting him lightly on the chest, and he does so (but he immediately returns his hand to Jinki's).

"What if I got blind,"

It wasn't a question, and Jinki is startled for a moment, almost moving away to look at Kibum but he stays still.

"Kibum."

"What if I suddenly go deaf, then. Would it still be alright?"

"Kibum," Jinki thinks this is going no where.

"What if, what if wrinkles show on my face, or my hair goes gray, or, or," and Kibum's breaths are ghosting in air, but his eyes are closed.

Oh, Jinki realizes. It is one of those moments, "Really?"

"Jinki," Kibum whines, demanding answers to his not-so-question questions.

"Kibum, let's just sleep, okay" Jinki murmurs into his golden hair, subtly sniffing in his shampoo's soft scent.

"But what if it really happens," Kibum clings to him tighter. "What if I really become ugly and then you won't love me anymore, and then I'll be lonely and then,"

"Kibum, sleep" Jinki stops his rambling, pressing his lips to his forehead.

"But-" he starts, but he is cut by Jinki's arms tightening its hold around his sides, Kibum digs deeper into his chest.

"No other buts, honey," and then Jinki props himself up with an elbow, brushes Kibum's fringe aside, and proceeds to look into his eyes with such warmth that he can feel his insides burning. "We can sleep now and I promise that if we ever wake up in the morning with you deaf, mute, old, ugly or whatever, I'll still love you."

Kibum buries his head in the crook of his neck to hide his teary eyes and red nose, "Fine, I'll sleep, god, stop saying things that embarrasses me, ugh."

all he hears is a soft rumble from Jinki's chest and silence.

"But really, Kibum," Jinki holds Kibum firm in his arms, "I love you."

Sleep.

"I love you, too."

be good, onew/key, jonghyun/key, onew/taemin. (*prompt) 1088 words

Two years. That's how long it took for Kibum to move on.

Finding someone better than the best is a hard task, almost impossible, and to be honest, Kibum thinks Jonghyun is the greatest, but not the best. Jonghyun is perfect, he is sensible, and he understands Kibum. He knows what Kibum likes, and he knows what Kibum hates. He is very perfect, that Kibum always feels so small and unfaithful next to him. He sends Kibum off to work with a kiss, and he is always there to welcome him home after a long hard day at work. Kibum is grateful because he's found Jonghyun, but it also makes him guilty.

Guilty because it has been a year into their relationship, and Kibum still hasn't spoken a word about his past. It doesn't help that Jonghyun is always gentle, never pushing Kibum, never asking him details and never asks for more. He hates it.

So when they're out on a casual date one Friday night and Kibum sees someone he knew before, and his world stops the same way it had when specific words were spoken two years ago, Jonghyun worries like how a bee buzzes around flowers. Kibum shakes his head, says it's just headache and they go home without doing anything at all. He sees Jonghyun crumple two tickets in his fists, pushing it to the farthest part of his jean's pocket and smiles at Kibum like he's done nothing wrong and takes him by the arm, making sure that he doesn't fall or collapse, and when they get home later, Jonghyun kisses him good night. Guilt.

The next day, he is sure that it was just a coincidence, if not a hallucination. He is over it, he has moved on. But when he asks Jonghyun if he wanted to go out today, and he happily agrees and they end up in a nearby restaurant, he sees him again.

Dressed in light blue polo and black skinny jeans he used to not wear, stood his past in front of him.

Kibum thinks he mirrored the same expression on his face, shock.

"Kibum?" He tries not to shiver at the deep, smoothing voice that breaks the silence.

"Hello," His smile comes off like a grimace, but he is trying not to show any feeling other than recognition. He thinks he fails at the way Jonghyun's hand is suddenly tighter than before. "Nice meeting you here,"

"Same here," and his head screams, get away. Before I completely retrace my steps from the past, he adds unconsciously, because after all the years, his smile is still the same and his eyes still curve the same way. "But we're just leaving." And his eyes trail to the side and he sees a very pretty young man with shoulder length straight hair and thin lips.

"Oh, yeah," he nods, and then he feels his hands cling to Jonghyun, he regrets doing this, "See you sometime soon?"

"Yeah," but he knows they won't.

"You know that guy?" Jonghyun asks, sipping water from his glass. Kibum stops cutting his steak for a moment, before looking Jonghyun in the eyes.

"Just someone I knew." Jonghyun nods, and they finish their dinner after a few more long minutes of comfortable silence.

And Jonghyun doesn't push, he never does.

Two years. That's how long it took for Jinki to move on.

Leaving someone you dearly loved has never been easy, it never will be and it never was. But he tries his best, because he is the one who breaks it off and he regrets it. Regrets not holding on longer, regrets not trying harder, and regrets giving up so fast. Jinki thinks Taemin is perfect, but they don't fit nearly that well. Taemin is perfect, he is amazing, he is innocent. He knows what to do to make Jinki smile, he knows what to do when Jinki's tired. He is so perfect, that Jinki always feels older and dirtier than him. He cooks packed lunches for Jinki, and is always there waiting like a faithful boyfriend when Jinki is back from work. Jinki is thankful he's got Taemin, but it also makes him regret.

Regret because after vowing to forget and to make a new beginning, he still screams for the past, yet keeps Taemin around. It doesn't help that Taemin is innocent, never suspecting, never hesitates and never doubts. He hates it.

But just when he's taking out Taemin for a date on a Friday evening, because he's done very good in his dance recital, his eyes catches a sight that takes his breath away. He stops just abruptly enough for Taemin to be pulled back, and he stops, too. His eyes are too worried for Jinki, and he asks him if he feels something wrong. Wrong, very wrong, Jinki thinks. But he smiles at Taemin, and is glad when Taemin smiles back. He ushers him to this new movie they're watching, it's something Taemin has been waiting for, and he never looks back. Taemin kisses his cheeks for watching the movie with him, and he smiles but says nothing back.

The next day, he plans to forget again. He plans to make it all alright, and plans to make up for missing out on Taemin last night. Taemin is very happy that Jinki decides to take a day off at work and spend the rest of the day with him instead. Taemin picks out the restaurant and Jinki drives, but he doesn't expect to see him again.

He is just asking to be greeted, and Jinki eyes the man he is holding to, but he greets him anyway. He doesn't fail to see how wonderfully dressed he is. His name, even after two whole years, tastes bitter in his mouth.

He says hello, he says nice to meet you here, but all Jinki could hear is 'regrets, regrets, regrets' chanting in his mind.

He remembers Taemin holding his hand, but he doesn't introduce Taemin, and he never does get to know the stranger's name. He says goodbye without another word, but with more regrets and thoughts he will never rid of in his head.

"Hyung," Taemin says after Jinki pulls out of parking.

"Yes?" There is a click, their seat belts.

"Do you know him?" Taemin looks at him expectantly.

'Guilt, regret, guilt.'

Because there is innocence and fragile in his eyes, "Just someone I knew." And Taemin hums, satisfied with the answer.

"Okay," because Taemin is innocent and doesn't understand.

A/N: You know what's funny? The ones I thought would turn out angst, turned out fluff, and those ones I thought would turn out fluff, turned to be angst. Wow. Anyway, I have lots of prompts left. Yay, writing. Hahaha
