SPN Dream: Sam and Dean vs...

Feb 03, 2007 18:19

So, apparently if I get massively sleep-deprived and then manage to sleep ten hours, I dream in crack!fic. This is a dream I had last night involving Sam and Dean Winchester.

Sam and Dean vs...

I (as myself, which is weird, I'm usually someone completely different in my dreams) was working at some kind of isolated resort place on an island as a social director/office flunky (me as a social director is already cracky, trust me). Sam and Dean were guests at the resort along with a whole bunch of other people, and the resort was cut off from the rest of the world mostly. There was a weekly supply boat, phones, power and internet and that's about it.

Sam and Dean kept trying to explain to the staff (including me) and managers that everyone needed to leave right away because something bad was going to happen and everyone was going to die. The rest of the staff laughed at them and the manager told Sam and Dean to stop harassing the staff or bad things would happen to them but since I didn't laugh at them Sam and Dean pulled me aside later and Dean was being earnest, intense, commanding and just a tiny bit desperate, and Sam was doing puppy-dog eyes so of course I believed them (in the dream I had no idea who they were, only that they seemed trustworthy and very convincing). I tried to convince my manager that Sam and Dean were right but the manager was adamant that they were crazy and he was going to kick them out on the next supply boat if there were any more disruptions.

Just then while Sam and Dean and me were all arguing with the manager in the main dining room there's this great huge whump! Whump! WHUMP! noise and... Godzilla attacks! (For a second in the dream, I thought it was Raoul from Demian's recaps on TWoP, but nope, it was Godzilla) Godzilla attacking pissed Dean off immensely because he couldn't enjoy Godzilla movies anymore if the critter in them was real. Mass panic and scrambling of guests and staff, and we learned then that we really were cut off because something happened to the supply boat, and it had sunk, or gotten squashed or something. Anyway, no boat.

Sam and Dean revealed they had found these gorgeous sheets of medieval full-colour, hand-illuminated parchment earlier, very ornately decorated and written, somewhere on the island in a cache of old scrolls. They knew the sheets had something to do with banishing Godzilla, but they couldn't read the language on the scrolls. They did know someone that might in the outside world, but all the phone lines to the island were cut off, and only one of their phones had service, but it wasn't one with a camera.

I knew the internet connection to the island was usually flaky, but that it would still be connected because it ran under the water with the power cables instead of in overhead lines like the phone service. I thought I could get it stable long enough to scan and email the parchment to their translator person using the equipment in the resort offices.

So Dean went off, trying to ride herd on the flailing panicky guests and staff who are running randomly everywhere with "Oh Noes!" arms a-waving and getting squashed with a nasty wet scrunchy noise when Godzilla stepped on them. Barney the Dinosaur was there too, being completely random, but no one trusted him, and really I'm not sure who's side he was on, really. Dean kept yelling at him.

Meanwhile, Sam and I were in the office. Sam was on his phone to the translator person (he had the phone to his ear pretty much throughout the dream, actually), and I was trying to scan the parchment in a hurry, but there's an 11X17 inch piece and a 22x17 inch piece, and the scanner in my dream is a notorious bitch for bailing on large high quality scans.

I scanned the small one first, but when translator person got it there was no useful info in the text. I started trying to scan the bigger piece, but the scanner kept bailing halfway through with memory full errors, so I tried scanning it half a page at a time, intending to stitch it together before sending it but there was no time. I got the first half of the sheet scanned and sent, Sam said me that the translator on the other end of the cell phone said it's the correct sheet, but the important part is in the bottom half of the parchment.

Just then Sam looked out the office window and got an "Oh Crap!" face because Godzilla is coming straight towards the office, like it knows what we're doing. Sam started shouting at me to get out and run because Godzilla's coming and we have to get out of there.

I got all up in Sam's face and heroic and tell him to get out and let me finish scanning and emailing the other half of the parchment so their translator can get him and Dean the info to banish Godzilla and save everyone. Sam got all bitchfacey about it but finally ran off. I finished the scan job and watched to make sure the email with the attachment clears the Out box, turn around and get stepped on by freaking Godzilla.

This was the grossest thing I've ever had happen in a dream. Full-colour, Imax, surround-sound freaking graphic! I'll spare the description of that, but homigawd it was gross! Raoul would have barfed.

So, I died messily, fully conscious during the entire gory process, but then became a ghost or something, because I was floating around. There was another ghost there which surprised me, not that there was a ghost, but that there weren't more, because people were getting stepped on all over the place because even though Sam and Dean were keeping a large percentage corralled, these people were still idiot enough to go running around, freaking out, directly into the path of a giant stompy lizard. Morons.

Anyway, the ghost that was there besides me wasn't even one of the people being killed by Godzilla, he was the kid from the start of "Benders" who was watching Godzilla movies. He'd died somehow shortly afterward and had apparently chosen an afterlife of following the actual Godzilla around to watch the pandemonium and help out a little.

We kept tripping Barney so he'd fall under Godzilla's feet, which of course he survived. Actually he cushioned a few people who were being stepped on so that they survived too, since Barney in my dream was a giant stuffie. Barney came out looking like a bit of a hero, throwing himself under Godzilla's feet to save others. It was really frustrating.

Sam and Dean finally got the translation from their source on the cell phone. It apparently involved machine gun fire and Maypole dancing. This all got organized very quickly. The other ghost and I kept tweaking things a little here an there on the Maypole to make sure the streamers wrapped around the pole in the correct pattern, since the people doing the actual dancing had never done it before and were panicky freaks. Sam was reading out something as the Maypole dancers were dancing and Dean was all over the place firing of lots and lots of machine gun-like weapons.

Godzilla was starting to back off and run away when I woke up.
